In the past I’ve been called many things

amongst them crazy

My illness leaves my mind hyperactive

never lazy

The 21st Century

whilst progressive in some

Treats other less fashionable causes

with a flick of the thumb

It does seem to be that popularity

for the latest cause

Is brought about by the desire to use a hashtag to obtain

a round of applause

The bandwagon is jumped on

for a day or two

And then people move onto the next

cause in the queue

To me it is all superficial

and lacks intent

Even though I’m sure it is

well meant

Commitment to a cause is what

we need

Rather than getting bored and

moving on at speed

That is the only way to get

real progress

Otherwise all we end up with

is regress

Some may call me crazy

  1. Wow! Yes, yes and yes. I agree wholeheartedly! It’s amazing how superficial our culture has become – on all fronts. Where has the depth of caring gone? The attention spans for actual crises in our nations is deeply troubling. When the ‘news’ can give 30 seconds to an issue that actually matters for all of 2 days but talk about celebrity dates endlessly for as long as they choose – God help us all! (sigh)

I can only hope and pray that we begin to see a shift concerning awareness of what actually matters. There is so much worthy of our attention. Thank you for sharing your heart. Beautifully done! 💕
