The Ruin

The somber ruin draws her in

moss covered stone stands silent

memories hidden within

experiences lost

As she walks history surrounds

fleeting images of past gone

imbue her mind

faces come and go

🌑

As each step is taken

the path of the ancients is followed

footsteps are heard

footprints appear

🌑

The further she walks

deep into the ruin

history becomes the present

her present the future

🌑

Her memories drift away

new memories appear

memories from the past

🌑

She is home
