Goddess of the Harvest
Demeter is your name
You are also known
as the Goddess of the Earth
by those who know your fame
π
Lost was your daughter
Persephone, from your union with Zeus
Your grief brought famine
until Zeus sent Hermes
to make a much needed truce
π
The grief of your loss
delivered winter to Earth
The abundance of spring
and summer
a sign of your joy and rebirth
Wow!! β₯οΈ

We ‘did’ mythology at school when I was 11. First, Greek and straight after Roman – forever muddling up all the names in my head!
So, yes, it was very nice to read your poem and remember some names. π

We were never really taught about Mythology at school but Iβm now making up for lost time! π
