The Hare and the Owl
glowered
Neither backing down
to be seen as a coward
๐
The Owl stretched its wings
the Hare got ready to box
His fighting style not quite
what could be called orthodox
๐
The Hare moved this way and that
dived and weaved
All the while the Owl got impatient
looking very peeved
๐
The bored Owl observed
The Hare was a blur
Nothing could be seen
except a fluffy tail and fur
๐
The Owl had seen enough
with a yawn he took to the sky
While the Hare danced in victory
and waved a cheerful bye bye
I like how both of them think they won. ๐

A great humourous poem.
Sort of a pugilistic version of Edward Lear’s romantic poem The Owl and The Pussycat.
