staring blankly
at his feet

Absolutely. Well done. Realizing we are not to blame or not to be praised for much of what we have is a good start to humble gratitude and caring more and better for those less fortunate.

I agree, at one point in my life I was suffering badly with mental health issues and alcohol dependency and I could have so easily ended there. I think it was just luck I didn’t 😊
