The Feather

The Cat pounces the Bird ducks

this really is an uneven match

The Bird dances and weaves

this way and that

The desperate Cat can’t land a scratch

As the Cat runs out of puff

it is open to its spritely foe

The feathered master of Bird-Jitsu

lands an almighty

knock out flying blow

I remembered watching my cat Purryl in the back yard with a crow. The crow could have easily flown away but instead chose to hop just out of her reach. Purryl swatted and swatted to no avail. I really thought the crow enjoyed tormenting her.

Your poem reminded me of the unrealized balance in nature that man hasn’t learned yet.
